Thanks for the insight....I also want to pass my bible down to my daughter when she gets older, as well as my prayer journal (which I haven't kept up to date)..I saw this video on a different forum - thought it was hilarious!
Thnx for ur comment, but am I understanding you correctly that you agree with Joel Osteen?
Anyhow, my point of comparison is that John Piper is Biblically-based whereas Joel Osteen is preaching a half-gospel that does not save people, but gives them a false sense of assurance. Try John Piper and listen to Joel again. The Holy Spirit will convict you accordingly, I believe.
Shalom!
Oh, don't feel bad about it! I heard of Joel Osteen and his success with the book and church. I never dwelved deep into his theology and viewpoints until recently. His interview with Larry King was...evasive at best (or politically correct?); heretical at it's worst. I read the transcript...he wasted a wonderful opportunity, in my opinion.
Then, I see this clip on youtube.com It just confirms my impressions. He is great communicator, there is no doubt. But a gospel that is not Biblical is no gospel at all. Paul said that such people should be "anathema." Even if angel directly from God were to preach a gospel diff. than what the Bible teaches, we are to ignore it...more than that, actively reject it.
